"If the Constitution and the Union established by our forefathers were restored then there will be no truer supporters of that union and that Constitution than the Southern people. Every brave people who considered their rights attacked and their Constitutional liberties invaded, would have done as we did. Our conduct was not caused by any insurrectionary spirit nor can it be termed rebellion, for our construction of the Constitution under which we lived and acted was the same from its adoption and for eighty years we have been taught and educated by the founders of the Republic and their written declaration which controlled our consciences and actions." - General Robert E. Lee

"Let prayer be our passion. Let prayer be our practice." - General Robert E. Lee
The citizen-soldiers who fought for the Confederacy personified the best qualities of America. The preservation of liberty and freedom was the motivating factor in the South's decision to fight the Second American Revolution. The tenacity with which Confederate soldiers fought underscored their belief in the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. These attributes are the underpinning of our democratic society and represent the foundation on which this nation was built.
Today, the Sons of Confederate Veterans is preserving the history and legacy of these heroes, so future generations can understand the motives that animated the Southern Cause. The SCV is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to insuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved.
Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces. Membership can be obtained through either direct or collateral family lines and kinship to a veteran must be documented genealogically. The minimum age for full membership is 12, but there is no minimum for Cadet membership. Join today! Contact the Camp Commander for an application or visit the National Headquarters site (www.scv.org).

Gentlemen,
From discussions with our attorney, it appears we will be moving the case along quickly now, and quite likely with a final verdict in our favor. That said, we desperately need to raise additional funds to pay our legal fees. I personally urge each of you to contribute whatever you can, because we can't afford to fail, especially now that the State is on the ropes. Contributions can be sent to: SCV Florida Division 303 Wisteria Ct Deltona, FL 32738. Thank you for your support and for sharing this good news with your camp members.
Douglas D. Dawson, Florida Division Commander
